Friends and Advocates Centre
OBJECTIVE #1
To provide consumer/survivors of the mental health system, a safe place to hang out, and enjoy social and recreational
activities.
OBJECTIVE #2
To provide consumer/survivors a place where they can work on their social, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
through a peer supportive environment.
OBJECTIVE #3
To decrease the number of hospitalizations by providing peer support to those consumer/survivors during their recovery.
People can call if they need support or just need someone to talk to. Staff would only be there for emergencies and or
complicated issues.
OBJECTIVE #4
To build networks and relationships with other mental health agencies and to get Friends and Advocates Centre known
and available to consumer/survivor in the community.
OBJECTIVE #5
To ensure Friends and Advocates remains a consumer driven program. To make sure Friends and Advocates board
remains consumer driven.
